that it is crystal clear. The fixed length file works perfectly except for the
first field which is not retaining the empty spaces. The other fields do retain

spaces and put the xx after the first dummy definition of A(10). The xx retains
the 5 spaces. If I put the xx before the a(10) then it does not retain the
