<DIV>Fellow fp fanatic's,</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I applied a simple fp command today in some input.prc on a customer
that had requested the ability to show a Picture and Text attached to a
filePro record. He was so impressed with filePro that I thought I would
share it with the list, I am sure some of you have already done
this. Sometimes the simplest things are the greatest.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Customer has a new Sony PC w/Windows XP Media Center OPS and filePro
5.0, I simply put a field in his customer record that contains the complete
address/path.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> A real field on his main input screen, </DIV>
<DIV> "Name of
field" 68 "complete
path"</DIV>
<DIV>Customer Media Location: c:\customers\joeblow</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>
if: 68 ne ""</DIV>
<DIV>In his input.prc I put: @keyv then: system
"start explorer.exe"<68 </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>He then put 8 asst. jpg type pictures of his customers landscaping
job in a windows directory named C:\customers\joeblow
<---identifying above customer. He further used MS Word to generate a
document describing the details of the customers landscape job. He used
the "filmstrip" view in windows and upon pressing "V" while resting on the
customers record he is presented w/a beautiful window of the customers pictures
and a word document that can be edited simply and saved. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>This was so simple and beautiful that I thought I would share with the
list. I think that this will work with all XP versions. Perhaps
there are even more "system" calls that we could use to impress our fp
customers.</DIV>
