Is filePro Active?

I'm still actively working with filePro, although I'm semi-retired
now. I just had a knee replaced, but otherwise am in pretty good health, so
expect to stick with filePro for a few more years.
I support my existing customer base, but have trained filePro
programmers at each of my customers, so I only get involved in a supervisory
capacity; helping them plan major projects or digging into the programming
if they get stuck.
Last winter I trained 2 new filePro programmers, so I'm doing more
filePro training than I am actual programming.
My customers have (roughly) 5 full-time filePro programmers and
(roughly) 5 part-time programmers. None of them subscribe to this list.
They depend on me to forward list emails to them if they are important. I
often search my personal archive of emails (several thousand emails ranging
back to the 1990's) and forward them emails that may help them.
Here is one precaution that I can pass on to the list:
One problem my customers are having is hiring in people who have
different program language skill sets. This creates a mis-mash of
programming that is getting difficult to support.
One company in particular has too much code written in bash, python,
various C C++ and C# and other Linux programming methodologies as well as
programming written for their Windows PC's that interacts with the filePro
info pulled from the Linux servers. Rather than figuring out solutions
within filePro, every programmer they hire wants to work in their own
programming languages that they are already familiar with. Then, when they
leave the company, we have to find a replacement programmer with about 10
different programming skill sets!
I try to keep everybody programming everything in filePro, but with
something like database sorts or sending emails, it is too easy for them to
drop down into Python or C#, rather than write filePro code.
Stay happy and healthy everybody!

If nothing else, it's good to hear that so many names from the past are
still around!
