Copying files like this to the system's /lib folder seems
dangerous to me:  I would think adding the /appl/fp/FPFILES
directory to the 'p' startup files:

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/appl/fp/FPFILES:$LB_LIBRARY_PATH"
