Hi All:

I used to be a regular member of this list, but I am now retired and dealing with a very serious illness. I am cleaning out a lot of the old stuff I have sitting around, including my old HP Sco 5 Server. Like me, the hardware is obsolete, but it still runs like a champ and the system contains copies of all the systems I wrote during my twenty-five or so years writing custom filePro software. They might be of value to somebody. Mostly business software, including Accounting, Order Entry, Shipping, Inventory, Purchasing, Light Manufacturing, and all the bells and whistles that go with all that, all completely integrated with each other. As far as I know, that stuff never goes out of date. The system was in production at several businesses for quite a few years, but only one is left at this point, and they hired somebody else for support when I retired.
The problem would be to migrate the programs to a newer platform. I don't know how to do that anymore, or if it is possible. If it is, I'm sure it would take quite an effort. The machine has an old cartridge tape drive that works, but I doubt that anyone has a compatible unit these days.
If interested, you would be on your own. I am not well enough to assist. The other problem is that you would have to drive to South Burlington Vt to physically pick it up - Or pay to have FedEx or UPS pick it up, pack it, and ship it to you (warning - it's very heavy - I used to be able to lift it,but I no longer can).
I have included pictures of the computer sitting on my garage work bench here:

If nobody is interested, I will just rip out the hard drives and junk it.
Maybe this is a stupid idea, and if so, I apologize. Just thought I would ask in case all those years of development would be useful to somebody.

Sincerely,
Del Neroni
