I think I should pass on what I lrearned from Joe Chason yesterday.

Tom Podnar died in his sleep from a heart attack on Saturday night.

As Joe said as well, he had just spoken with Tom last week. So did I just a
week or two after that immediately after the New Year. He sounded fine.

I'm sorry to have no other information. Tom was a mainstay of this group
for the first15 or 20 years or so, though he stopped using FilePro very
early on. He may have had a tiny part of his accounting still using a very
early version of the program.

It will be hard to find an expert of his level regarding archiving data. It
will also be hard to find someone to call in the middle of the night when
doing a difficult restore simply could not wait until morning. He was one
of those people who was always there.

We all did lose a really good one there.

Didn't want this to turn into anything more than a RIP, since I'm pretty
sure only a handful of people on this forum knew Tom.
