I gave up on HP years ago since they wouldn't provide ScanJet drivers for
current versions of OS X, and wouldn't sell parts to fix an 18 month old
color laser printer.

I run all my printer output which has pcl through the ghostpdl pcl6 to
convert it to pdf before sending it the printer.
