Printer issue with FP 5.0

First, John, that is a valuable link to HP's support. I'll definitely save
that.
It is true that the problem is the PCL6 driver -- IF the user is using a
PCL6 driver. But not for the reason you imply. To print from filePro on
Windows directly to an HP printer, and have your printcodes take effect,
two things have to be true:
1) The PRINTER ITSELF must support PCL-5. I'm not talking about the driver
here.
2) The Windows printer driver must support LOW LEVEL printing. That's not
easy to determine, but I can attest that many recent PCL-6 drivers do NOT.
The bottom line for supporting most customers is this: don't buy an HP (or
other) printer for use with filePro without checking for compatibility.
(I haven't checked whether the HP 2035 meets criterion 1) above.)
