Print codes for HP Inkjet

Scott,

I have setup printing to a wide variety of windows printers and in my
experience most basic codes work with any that understand PCL3.  If you
are working with very complex layouts I have found some codes need
help.  My suggestion is to setup the printing for that printer.

1. Make sure windows can print to printer and that you used a PCL
compatible printer driver.
2. Make note of the Windows Printer Name such as "HP OfficeJet Pro 6970"
3. IN filepro setup printer destination so it says: WIN:HP OfficeJet Pro
6970
4. Setup up printer type with a PCL table you want from filepro's options.
5. Set printer as default and hardcopy a screen - With no printcodes.
If that works, try your form.  If not, see if your job was stuck in the
WIN Spooler for that printer or watch it while you test another print job.

Those are generally my steps to setup a printer and 95% of the time they
work.  I have had a few times when I told the customer to get a better
printer.

Using the PDF option avoids some of this worry - also an option.
Nancy
