OT: NDA as a Contracted Developer

That is what bothers most, he is not even using propietary software,
home grown/developed code; I helped him put together a CRM package based
on open source SuiteCRM and a number of plugins/modules.
When it was time for me to bill him, he asks I sign the NDA ... blew my
mind.
We agreed on monthly retainer to keep things running, clean and balanced
operationally with some module maintenance if needed for $1K a month -
Hourly rate if I had to write code or fix code on top of the $1K retainer.
I just cut ties and let him go - I am too old to sign anything and have
anyone put a cloud like that over my head. I guess that the good old
days of my word is my bond is no longer a thing.
