Help with import command

Thanks for the helpful suggestions. I finally got the read portion of the program working by changing the import parameters and then looping back to get the next line.
This method allow me to use the counter ct as the index for the array fields(9):93. I can the place the correct value in the real field and do some error checking along the way. I did have to change one real field(98) from (3,.0) to 3,#) as I needed to maintain the ending zero(s) sent.
The left portion of the import is placed in the long variable called heading and the value to the right of the equal sign = is placed in the long variable value; do I can bplace the proper response by using fields(ct)=value;GOTO get_imp excep-t then ct = "9" at that point I can post the data to the file which will be used to update other records or create new records( This will be a batch process run a the end of the day.
