Issue with client running filePro on VMware Fusion

I have a client running filePro 5.0.14 on a MAC using VMware Fusion and Windows XP.
Yes, I am aware the Windows XP is a very old version and not supported by Microsoft anymore as fp tech does not support 5.0. I am not sure upgrading to 6.0. will solve this issue.
At fp supports suggestion I added pfnodf=On and my client can now add records. Thank you for that suggestion.
However he is still having an issue with filePro using indexes and finding records. Going into rclerk and selecting the option to search by record number., entering a 1 or 18,208(the last record) nothing happens. Also when using index option for finding a record, entering the note number does not do anything nor will pressing F7 take him to the last entered note. The indexes have been rebuilt but no records appear. It as if there were no records in the file. I have not yet copied my clients files to my system for testing.
This issue only started a few month ago.
These issues are only in his main file, which is the header file for his contracts. I was able to get the option to enter new contracts working but he still cannot access any records in the header file either by entering a record number or by entering a contact number.
When a record number is entered nothing happens nor if one enters a note number for the Auto index A(which has been rebuilt).
When entering a new note, where there are browse lookups, these are working properly. I have not checked other files to see if they are having this issue. I could create a qualified and copy all of the records to the qualifier and test if the same issue occurs.
Since records can't be found using the record number. I am thinking that the record number is missing from the record. That would also explain why *clerk can't find anything using an index. No record number to use to access the record.
Has anyone had this type of Issue?
1. Do I have him reinstall filePro?
2. His VMWARE Fusion was rebuilt or repaired by a VMware support person. I have tested out his program using dpromenu as well as using the menus designed for his program. Everything appears to be working. Browse lookups work properly. I have not checked other files to see if they are having the same issue.
