HP LaserJet print issue

Richard, did you get any help with this?
What printcode file are you using in filePro?
Is your filePro executing on Windows or on Linux? What is the path of
printing from the filePro code to the printer?
Is any software (eg., Print Wizard or AnzioWin) sitting in the path of
this data, perhaps translating the PCL-5?
Some HP printers have a front-panel configuration option for whether to
print the Courier (built-in) font in "dark" or "regular". Does this
printer have that option? Does setting it for dark help?
Ultimately, this may boil down to which font you (they) are printing in,
actually IN the printer. If the print data flows at low level from filePro
to the printer, control over font selection rests entirely with the
printcode file in filePro.
On the other hand, if some program like Print Wizard is interpreting the
PCL, and sending high-level commands to the printer, that software AND the
particular Windows printer driver AND its configuration can all play a
part in determining what font the printer actually uses. For instance, the
program might say to print in font "Courier New", but the printer driver
may or may not be configured to do "font substitution", subbing "Courier
New" out and subbing "Courier" in. If you end up printing in "Courier
New", that will generally come out lighter than built-in Courier.
