Richard,
I would say the computer acting as Server should at least be PRO to
handle better security for networking.
The menu script problem might be because you did not setup a PFTMP
folder where you have access to write. Filepro will drop menu scripts
to a .bat file before execution and must be able to write them down to
do that.
The problem with the pathing would indicate the system does not know
where to find filepro stuff. I have seen systems with limited
environment space, so it could not load the variables. It used to
happen on Server 2002 as I recall or something that vintage and we would
add variables and then reset them to add filepro variables. It is not
reasonable on a Win10 machine to have that limitation but I don't know
what he might have installed and it is a consideration.
Start at a command prompt and set variables one at a time and check if
they are held.
I just upgraded my computer to Win10Pro and had to tweak a few things
but printers worked, variables worked, filepro works. I used PCMover
Professional and connected Win7Ultimate computer to Win10Pro computer -
It analyzed my old computer and moved installed software, printers,
etc. It told me what it could not move and gave me options to leave
things behind and such. I was very impressed. It took weeks in the
past to setup a new workstation after one of these changes. This one
took 12 hours and most of my stuff was ready to go. I have had to
handle some things because of licensing but I did not lose any work time
overall.
A small note if you are thinking of this kind of thing.

They are on filePro 5.0. and had no problems with the application for almost one year. In December they started to have issues with filePro. Menu scripts didn't work and some reports based on dares did not run properly and the Owner had problems printing reports to his local printer.
