"This is not prefect [...]"
Were you -going- for the irony, or just lucky? :)
As for the demo... You're not serious, are you? Reallllly???
I'm on the data entry screen, and I can tell that nobody who waved so much
as a pinky finger near this has done a single hour of real-life data entry
in their lives. That, or those who were, were overruled by someone with
no clue. No keyboard navigation to the record button? You have -got- to
be kidding me. If this is remotely representative, huge parts of this
-require- a mouse or touchscreen. That's an automatic failing score for
UI/UX, and an -insane- hit to productivity, by any reasonable metric. You
can literally do better designing web pages longhand, and several of us
have done for over two decades.
Then there's the fact it's quite obviously a screen scraper, and therefore
is quite probably limited to 80x24...in a web environment. The sheer
amount of wasted screen real estate is staggering, especially at 4k
resolutions. It's not responsive design (the least of its sins, but
still...in a mobile age, responsive design or go home).
In terms of security, you just...open a websocket connection with what
appears to be no credentials. I haven't had time to comb through all of
the additional JS externals (or even more than a couple pages of the inline
JS), but the very fact you think an information disclosure like myRealPath
with the -actual- Windows path to resources somehow isn't a security
violation inspires -zero- confidence that anyone even thought about
security. It's like you learned nothing from fPcgi. I'd need to take more
time than I have to satisfy my morbid curiosity, but I'm betting on a
flawed security model, based on what I -have- seen.
Whatever you're going to be charging, it's way too much for what it is,
IMNSHO. It's clunky, it's ugly, and it actually brings a -less- elegant
approach than the native terminal emulator based UI to an HTTP-based
experience that is effectively somewhere around "Web 0.5". It totally uses
2.0+ tech to do it, but the actual UI/UX is dismally primative, if this is
any sort of accurate representation. I am actually being kind in my choice
of words, there.
And to think...people actually attended a conference for the unveiling...
Mind. Blown. Just...wow. *low whistle*
That is the biggest trainwreck I have seen in years, and I suffered through
the PreSonus Studio One v4 launch on a platform they claimed up-front to
support, but in reality did/do not do more than a pretense of doing so.
"Not perfect," is one -hell- of an understatement. That's a little like
saying WW2 and Vietnam were, "Less than ideal."
I didn't expect much, but this is just staggeringly below even my low
expectations.
I'm honestly not sure whether to laugh or cry.
Wow.

I had used the MAC address of my NIC on my server, the problem appears to be that I teamed the NICS and after the last reboot the MAC address I had used changed. FPtech issues a new license using the drive serial number. I will test this new license when I get back to my office later today.
