Windows installations

Richard, we use a windows installation. I would strongly recommend against putting the data on an SD card. I believe but could be wrong that those have unlimited number of read write cycles. I would put the data on a mirrored set of SSD drives if not raid.
We don't use the traditional client/server setup. We use something from Georgia softworks that acts as a telnet server. It works with any telnet client but has its own with built-in encryption and compression. This way all of the EXEs run on the server and access the data locally. You're just sending screen data across the wire. The increase in speed is quite noticeable. Just something to think about.

I just want to get an idea of how many of you are using Windows rather than
*nix for running filePro.
That would be running both a Windows client and Windows Server.
I have 2 distinct installation of filePro.
1. FilePro development on my server and a client shortcut to the
filePro data stored on the server through a mapped drive.
2. FilePro installed on my MS Surface Pro (Laptop) with both filePro
and my client's application stored on the same drive. In this case the
drive is a 256GB Micro SD card. I do sometime run a client's application
from a USB stick.
And yes, I have two separate filePro license, one for each installation.
The MS Surface Pro's license use a MAC address tied to the wireless NIC as
that value will not changed if/when I change the MICRO SD card.
The server, however, has the license tied to the serial # of the drive where
filePro is installed.
