Personally, I would need to see at least a single screenshot demonstrating
that you've progressed far past the 80x24 world before I'd even -think-
about trying to justify the expense of attending.  A video would be even
better.

You're not Blizzard Entertainment or VMware.  You cannot -seriously- think
that a zero-ROI conference with all the inherrent expenses is the best
way to launch a product, nor that you can actually command that kind of
loyalty at this point in time.  If you do, you're simply out of touch with
your audience, and possibly reality in general.  Hell, a large percentage
of the people who would have been the most likely to attend are either
dead, retired, or moved on to other solutions.

It's a sad state of affairs when a company holds its -promotional-
activities behind a prohibitive paywall with zero visible ROI for making
the effort.
