Simple,

No one has answered this simple question.

I had asked fp support a number of time before getting a possibly useful answer.  I had asked for some programming examples as to how to use this function.  I didn't get examples just an explanation of what it does and if using it in a browse with a sub-routine (think prc on the command line), place it there. Otherwise at the start of the command.  I did as about where to place it when loading values into an array from a lookup - getnext routine to use with a selectbox.  When reading in record in a file with a few hundred or more records, or doing a sortarry() on an array with a lot of elements, this can be useful in letting the user know that the program is not frozen.  I often put up a show statement with either a counter or display some other piece of information which allow the user see that the program is not frozen.

The problem I am having is that this function was added in 6.00.00.01 and when I run a syntax check, I am getting an error even with just busybox on the then line.  Why?
