lol - This reminds me of the argument often given when use of mouse came
about (I am sure that to this date many argue that it is useless).
While this is true, it is also subjective to the individual and how they
run their business.
You may have a store with an application that does not allow you to
collect "Use Tax" and you have learned to cope with it or have never
needed it. Just across the street there is an identical store, same
type of business and they have a huge need for collecting "Use Tax".
Point is, a viable feature for one and an useless feature for the other
and both are running the exact same type of business.
The desk calculator: If the application tabulates cut width and cut
length based on room dimension and chosen carpet item, should
salesperson just pull the calculator and figure it out or take advantage
of a feature in the system? A veteran salesperson with 20+ years behind
a desk will argue "I don't need no damn computer to tell me what cuts I
need" ... but 2 inches lost per room per project amounts to a lot of
yards of carpet.
In short, this may fall in the trap of users being so used to doing
things one way that they may render a feature useless simply based on
personal preference, not based on "business" value.
All that being said, point taken! Thanks!
