This might be more then it is worth, You could create a filePro file with the with the old user #'s and names. In auto processing get the value in @cb and do a lookup to the filePro file to get the name and display that in field cb or whatever temporary field value you have available.
This may avoid a lot of system issues and gets around the issue you are having.
Just a suggestion.
