I assume a type because this path would be invalid.
H\appl/filepro/payables/index.B: Invalid argument
How are you rebuilding it? A script or the dxmaint interface?
You can try removing that index completely and then rebuild it from scratch.
If that does not work, what fields are you using to build the index?
