There are probably other factors in pulling the info off the web site.
For example, the newer style indexes have a description imbedded in them.
So if you were to contact fP support and ask for the index layout, they
would probably come back and say, "Which version of filePro and what
operating system do you need it for?"
Personally, I don't like to have all that info about maps and such
available to the general public, even if filePro isn't the dominant database
in the market.
I will agree that the general lack of contact from filePro company is a
problem. IE, There aren't any newsletters, no conferences, they change
important stuff on the web site without at least a "Hey, we removed the map
and index info from our website. Contact us if you need them". About all
we get is an occasion sale email or a "new version released" email.)
On the other hand, I really want to see fPtech stay viable, so I hope
they make good use of whatever time and money they have available to market
filePro and to spend in order to keep us informed of website changes. If
they don't have time to let us know about these changes or to put out a
newsletter, then so be it.
I'm sure fPtech will never get to the point where they are making
enough millions of dollars to afford an aerobatic flying team to compete
with Oracle's team. Personally I would start worrying if they DID start
their own aerobatic team!!! <grin>
