OT: Window update issue

MS rolled out an update with a new twist to their malware removal program.

I have 2 servers running; a new one with Server 2012 and the older one with
Server 2008. When the update installed and rebooted, the malware removal
program presented a list of "infected" files. Most of these we filePro
related files. Even after removing these from the list presented, filePro
would not run. It also appears that the drivers for the 2 DVD drives were
affected as neither drive would read my filePro install disk. (Other
computers DVD drives could read this disk.

I updated filePro on the 2012 server which ran filePro without a problem. I
then copied the fp directory to my 2008 server and found that filePro would
not run. The error message was that the program failed to run.

If you are running MS be careful of their removal tool (Don't run it).

At this point I am going to shutdown the old server or most likely do a
clean install of the OS and filePro Runtimes and donate this server to my
community. I will have to see if Server 2012 will install on this machine
as it is configured with minimal server hardware. I could install Windows
10 Enterprise and set this up as a workgroup "server". filePro runtimes
would run nicely from this machine.
