Richard,

I understand exactly and agree with you.
I never expect anything for free.

That being said, I have benefited from many people in person or via
there posts on other sites.
I think it is important to share.

I do not begrudge Mark his $995 for OneGate.  Those who have used it
generally like it very much.
But we should we to bring useful coding help to those who might look at
this list as a resource?

Somebody may not know what they don't know and be afraid to ask to this
list.
Generally not a friendly place.

The "age" thread did one thing.  It showed we are old and getting older.
If FP is going to exist in the future, we need more and younger programmers.
Let's show how FP can be a fantastic text orientated data input program
and a
robust back end for very new looking web apps.

Some Airlines, Home Depot, Lowes, and other large. medium, and small
companies still use text oriented programs.
We need to change our look, our focus, and our capabilities.  That
requires more knowledge.
I certainly do not know everything.  A recent email makes me want to
take a closer look at OneGate.
I may get some time this year to do just that.

It was supposed to replicate itself once and move to the next sever. There was an error in the code and it kept replicating, after moving to the next server, on the current server until there was no disc space left. This caused a lot of servers to shut down.

Think of all of the app updates for smartphones that arrive almost daily. Microsoft used a piece of public domain software and for some unexplained reason removed the code which made the software very secure.
