Amen!

I installed our first mission-critical Linux system in September 1997 at a
Seattle law firm where it was primarily an email server, and file and print
sharing to a bunch of PCs running M$ Windows.

Their office manager said that being forced to run Word for Windows instead
of WordPerfect cut their productivity by at least 50%.

Remember the first IBM PC? The keyboard was horrible for any serious
typist, designed largely to protect IBM's business in expensive word
processing systems. I was managing a Radio Shack 'X' Department at 19th
and K streets in D.C. at the time. Frequently people would come into my
store looking for word processing systems. I would show them Scripsit with
it's ability to handle large documents, and handle most things without
taking fingers far from the home keys, and the keyboard on the Model II was
very similar to the IBM Selectric. Then I would have them go the new IBM
product center, about a block from my store, to check out the PC. They
would inevitably be back to buy the Model II, daisy wheel printer, and
external 4-drive bay. Their office managers absolutely hated the PC
keyboards.
