I use an old Lexmark X264 for my B&W multifunction needs. It serves up PCL5 and PostScript just fine. I need both.
The new Lexmark MX317dn is the heir-apparent to the X264. According to the web site, it supports...
---
Printer Languages (Standard)
PCL 5e Emulation
PCL 6 Emulation
Personal Printer Data Stream (PPDS)
PostScript 3 Emulation
Microsoft XPS (XML Paper Specification)
PDF 1.7 emulation
---
USB 2.0 and Ethernet ports.
$141 including free shipping from Amazon. In stock.
Not a bad deals.

Subject: Re: New printer prints blank pages
Well, guess I should have done my homework more initially - wouldn't have
even thought this of a Brother all in one.....
They have a 'sister' printer to this one MFC-L2740DW that claims PCL6
(does this 'automatically' assume it will then also support PCL5?)
If not - does anyone have a suggestion on a similar type new printer - this
isn't a super high traffic printer but obviously needs to be able to print
from filePro.....having scan/fax feature is a bonus but not a true necessity
thanks for the help
