List Status Test.

Many years ago I was working for a company selling a system to the Apparel Industry mostly in New York. I called one company and spoke with the owner, a very nice lady who informed me that her son just graduated college with a degree in computer programming. He knew her business and was going to write a program for her.

I told her I would call back in 3 or 4 months.

When I did call back she asked me to come in as her some had programmed beautiful screens but nothing "worked together" (Not a relational database).

After our meeting and a demo of the system, she asked me why her son couldn't do that. My answer was simple and direct - "No real word programing experience."

I was able to sell her a working system that took less than a month to get up and running. The longest time was getting the accounting system master files set up and training her employees.

No, I don't know what happened to her son. I thing she fired him - eventually.
