And actually, as you may discover playing with that demo, the "scanning" 
page is really a generic file attachement page. You can uplooad a zip 
file or word doc or about a dozen or so supported file types and it will 
store them and feed them back to you the same as a scan. So you can 
attach whatever you want to some record in your app.

Also in the server side, the same cgi can be used as a plain command 
without encryption or commas, to gather all the image file types (tiff, 
png, pdf jpg etc, ignoring zip xls doc etc) and generate a single tiff 
to feed into hylafax or a single pcl to feed to a printer, etc. 
Similarly could be enhanced a little more to send an email with attachments.
