Odd Windows Problem with filePro

Ken,

I appears that only dscreen, in filePro is having the problem. However, this problem is occurring exists any time ALT<Fn 8,9 or 10 is pressed.

Alt [Fn 5,6 and 7 do nothing in dscreen.exe.

As for what was fixed, my screen display slowed down to a crawl and I installed a new video drive. I also had to update a lot of drivers and some firmware.

The original problem manifested itself in the system doing an automatic shutdown advising that it was having a problem with c:\windows\syswow64\drivers\ausufilter.sys. Also, another service was not able to start.

None of the on-line suggestions for correcting the problem with the asusfilter.sys file worked. I finally deleted all of my Asus programs and reinstalled them from the disk supplied with my motherboard. This file is the one that communicates with the onboard USB ports. It also seems to control the communication with the onboard PS/2 connectors as well as the additional USB card I installed. I

Once the programs from the original install disk were installed, the auto shutdowns stopped but I now had this problem with the ALT FN keys.

I am not sure where this problem came from but If I can't solve this, I will have to move screen design to my SurfacePro or my other workstation which is mapped to my server. I could also do screen design on my server but that's in another room.
