Frank,
21 Years ago I decided to skin the "barcode label" cat by using a barcode printer specifically designed to use PCL5 instead of the standard barcode languages.

The company I chose was: http://www.intellitech-intl.com

I just looked, and this company is still in business, doing the same thing.
There is another company, Datamax O'Neil, doing the same thing (might even be the same printers. Datamax-O'neil was acquired by Honeywell in March of this year.
https://www.datamax-oneil.com/do/com/en-us/index.cfm

There are probably others.

If other paths to your solution fail you, this one is quite easy to implement.

Subject: OT-sorta Zebra Label Printers

Any one have success with printing from Filepro-lynux to Zebra ZT410 Label printer? Years ago JP helped me with something like this but I have lost all the references and examples. This is becoming a BIG thing with food companies because of new Food Safety Law. Labels and tracking for everything.
