recompile tables

I was told by Ken that these commands;

To recompile all prc files:

     rcabe filename -ca
or
     rcabe filename -cia

would recompile my processing tables and convert them to ASCII format, 
if ABE was set to ASCII.

I have tried these with ABE=ASCII  set at the linux prompt and inside my 
PFCONFIG using both
rcabe and dcabe, and my test processing table is still encoded.

It there any way to get this done without opening every table and 
recompiling manually?
