It becomes "smarmy" when you know damned well that I don't have a customer
account of my own, and you give me a link to a paywalled page Ä something
you -knew- full-well wouldn't be helpful unless I jumped through hoops on a
client's account.
The fact that you blurted it out without ensuring that -all- the files were
actually accounted for simply adds insult to injury.
Actually, double-checking the dictionary, I'm not sure "smarmy" is the
correct word I wanted to use. I've heard it used by others in that
context, but apparently I was listening to the wrong people using it
incorrectly, and never checked on them before now. I'm at a loss to
figure out the exact -single- word I want; long day, vocabulary offline.
"Sarcastically and sardonically unhelpful," is going to be the closest
translation to how it read to me.
