How do you maximize productivity when writing filepro code in a 24x80?

Stanley,

I use a blending of tools. I have my Unix servers filepro folders
shared to windows, so I can see what I want from windows. It takes a
bit of permission planning but works great. I found an editor called
NoteTab that respects the colon bits and you can set it to save a
process table in UNIX mode or Windows Mode. (Difference is linefeed).
But if it opens a Unix file it saves a Unix file so you usually don't
have to worry. But you could open a windows process table and save it
as a Unix process by changing the file type to Unix. (Obviously, you
have to adjust the name) It also makes a backup file when I load the
table. After you need to run it by the syntax checker to make sure it
is good.

I can open as many files as I highlight - say all the prc. files in a
folder. I can search/replace through them all, etc. They are just in a
large document so paging is easy. Each file opens as a tab in the editor.

This has given me the best solution for editing so far.

I do have Unix tools that can search for text in a lot of files all at
once, but you can't beat Windows editors for cut and paste features. (I
am VI challenged - Never took to it at all on *NIX platforms like some
of my fellow programmers.)

If ANZIO is being used to go to a computer outside your network, this
method certainly would not work, but in-house it works great. BTW - I
use ANZIO to make a session in Unix but when I have a large amount of
editing the method above works well.
