You were lucky.

My solution to old SCO systems has been to move them to VMware
virtual machines running on Linux hosts.  VMware provides SCSI
disk mode, and network adapters which work well.  I originally
tried doing this under qemu-kvm on CentOS, but the SCSI support
wasn't available, and I couldn't figure out how to install SCO.

Generally I install an OpenServer image with all patches
installed then get the data off the old system using 'dd' to copy
the original hard drive(s) to images which can be mounted under
VMware to access the data.  Getting the geometry right under
VMware is a bit tricky.
