This is a bash question but involves fp so I thought I run it up the flag.
I have a number of menus I need to print and review so rather than enter all the keystrokes for each I thoguht I'd use the redirect ability of bash. BUT I can't get it.

My files are:
cat f1
p < keys

cat keys
6
menuJJ
<ESC><ESC><ESC>ESC>N
Y
X

The <escape characters were entered by typing <crtl><v> then the <ESC> key.
In the actual file keys the <ESC> displays as ^[
which I thinkm is correct for 27/033

If there is a specific site I should be directed to please let me know. I have been browsing the web but without success.

Thanks
