some users act differfently

I have one where I run a shell script. On the console it doesn't run, 
silently fails.
 From Anzio it runs. The script is run from filepro menu. The script can be
line by line in the menu editor or a shell script called from the 
filepro menu.
Mine has nothing to do with what user but whether it is the console or an
Anzio term session.

Never found an answer.
