I have been playing around with the preview version of Windows 10(64 Bit).
This is a cross between Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 and even the evaluation version releases seem stable.
I installed FilePro 5.7.3 on my laptop an IBM ThinkPad with 3GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD.
The only problem I have encountered with FilePro is a function of Windows 10 and the external 27" monitor I am using. I really don't like the appearance of the fonts available.
Here's where many of you are going to complain. Microsoft has tied the login, when connected to the internet to an account with them similar to what apple has. They also allow for the entry of a PIN when not connected to the internet. For corporate users, the login can be connected to a domain server.
The only problem, with a new install of filePro, will be configuring fplm_service as this requires administrative access. I had to select the command prompt option (administrator) to configure the service after modifying the sample script. The other problem I had with the service was that I had to manually start the service the first time. On reboot the service started automatically.
I would strongly suggest that the instructions for running the install be done from "run as administrator" even if you login is for an administrator; this should allow the service to be installed.
I expect that there will be more builds prior to it going into Beta testing. My first build was 10047 and the current one I am working with is 10071. That was one week later.
