filePro List propounded (on Tue, Jan 27, 2015 at 10:42:17AM -0500):
| Hi all,
| I have three customers using SCO Openserver 7 and filePro which are finding
| the /tmp directory completely deleted at random times. One uses MOS, the
| other two have different filePro apps. This just started in 2015 and
| happens randomly. I checked the crontabs and /etc/rc2.d for scripts that
| may be causing this. I am totally perplexed. Anyone else having this
| problem?
| Thanks in advance,
| Larry Hoover

I've no experience with Openserver 7. Do you recommend it, Larry?

I've never seen /tmp disappear on Openserver 6, but not quite once a
year, I have seen /var/tmp (or its symlink /usr/tmp) disappear. Never
figured out why,

While it sure would be nice to know what's causing this, for the nonce
be a hacker: add a crontab entry to 'mkdir /tmp;chmod 4777 /tmp' every
{small_number_of} minutes.
