setting up a filePro ODBC link

Thank you to Walt and Bob,
I think my course of action tomorrow will be first to remove any anti virus from the work station and try it.
If that does not work then I will move the batch file to the server, create the system ODBC link there and try it.
I will report back as to my success or lack there of. Just in case any others run in to this.
Thank you,
Rick Hane

Richard--we use ODBC low-level on some daily processes. I'm afraid I don't
have much to offer you in this case, however. We do run our fp process on
the server though--it has been rock solid for a number of years (from SQL
2005 through 2012).

Subject: Fw: setting up a filePro ODBC link
I sent the email below yesterday. Does anyone other than me run the ODBC
low level from filePro?
Thank you in advance

Afternoon list,
As I mentioned in an email last week, I am having a problem with our ODBC
connection between filePro 5.0.15 ODBC and Microsoft SQL Server.
Workstation is Windows 7 and server is Windows Server 2003.
The batch file that is run has 55 lines. 14 of which run processes that get
data from our MRP software written in Microsoft SQL server. This process
has been working for over 2 years. During the past 2 - 3 weeks we notice
the process seems to loose the ODBC link. As far as we can find, nothing
has changed on the workstation or the server.
Trying to trouble shoot this and I have a couple of questions.
If you are running a process that gets data from SQL are you using a System
or a User ODBC link? I would assume System.
Do you run this from a workstation? I have considered setting up the link on
the server and running it from there.
I need to get this fixed. I retired from Deluxe Stitcher on 01/22/2015 and
would like to clean this problem up.
Any suggestion would be appreaciated.
Thank you in advance,
Rick Hane
