5.7.0.2D4 doublespacing printouts after hardware replacement

Client box had a fan failure, had to replace the mobo. No parallel for their
Epson DFX-8000 monster-printer. Tried a PCIe but it wouldn't print anything -
I suspect that the Epson hates ECP (as lots of old parallel printers did),
and there's no way to turn that off (disable_ecp isn't in my parport_pc).

So we put in a Prolific USB Parallel cord. Prints, but while lp printed
files are fine, filePro now doublespaces everything. There's a DIP switch
for this on the printer to tell it to supply LFs when receiving a CR, but it
was already on, and turning it off changed nothing. Yes, I power cycled.

There *used* to be, I thought, a page of settable knobs for each printer/type
in filePro, but I can't find it. I thought it was an Fkey in pmaint, but
nope.

Any ideas what I'm misremembering, hivemind? :-)

Cheers,
