fpodbc and sql connections

I have a long batch file which contains 9 filepro processes that read data from our MRP software written in SQL Server.  The rest of the lines are rreport processes.  This batch file has worked for several years.

We are now running in to a problem making the initial connection.  Some times we have to run that process 3 or 4 times to make the connection.  Also, on occasion we will loose the connection.  This batch file had been run from my workstation.  To try and solve this, I moved the batch file to the sever.  On 2/5/15 it worked correctly.  Today the same problem with the initial connection happened again.  Yes we have turned off any antivirus software.

Has anyone else had this problem?  And if so, how did you solve it?  Any other thoughts what the problem might be.
