Email list test

Success! Here's what I learned, which may help you not only with traffic
on the filePro list but with blockage of emails in other places as well:
An email arriving at the list server indicates what IP address it comes
from. If you resolve that IP (doing reverse DNS), you get a machine name.
If you resolve that name (using DNS), you should get the same same IP
address. If this is NOT true, the email list server rejects the post as
possible spam (I don't know how commonly this rule is applied).
In my case, my website is hosted by a company that doesn't want to mess
with email services, so I use yet a different company for my mail serving.
This company seemed to not understand this rule, and thus did not set up
DNS addresses properly. I eventually got them to fix this, and so I was
once again able to post to the filePro list.
Time will tell whether this resolves some other email problems.
To test your DNS on Windows, you can do (in a CMD window):
nslookup <ipaddress>
or
nslookup <hostname>
