I am not answering for fpTech but if I were considering doing fp as a service, I would create a qualifier for each company using your service. You are still managing sessions in use.
When a client logs in to the service, the qualifier environmental variable could be set thereby presenting them with their own data.
I am doing something similar for one of my clients but in a more restrictive way. When someone (part of a particular group) they can only see records which pertain to them. (not qualified).
