Maximun length of variable?

Short version:

Real (non-memo/blob) fields:  999
Dummy fields/variables:  32767  (one byte shy of 32KB)

But Ken's right, you should look it up.  Maybe 5.7 changed some limits, but
I doubt it.  fP is highly change-resistant.  The sizes I gave were valid in
5.0.x, for which docs may not even be available anymore.
