Yes....if I don't use ",g" then aa is always blank, when put in the
subtotal section of the output format.....if I use ",g" then aa is always
equal to ab -- so in the instance of client 5499, aa and ab are both 0091
..and I thought you said 'not' to use ",g" ?
So aa should be (4,#,g)?  Only aa should be ",g"? Not  ab?
