Moving a file with unlikable characters

Moving a file in Linux though filepro programming. 

 

mv /appl/forms/14-099-01 (2).jpg
/appl/forms/Vehicles/237306/14-099-01/14-099-01_2.jpg

 

I'm figuring out that if the file name has a blank or ( or ) Linux will not
move the file name. Is there a way to make Linux read the actual file name
and move/rename it? Am I missing something?
