That is true... *but*:

Since the redirects (generally) go after*, it's sometimes harder to work
out quoting and other related things without getting confused, and...

well, I had another reason, but I'm pushing 50.  :-)

* I fully realize, yes, that:

<sourcefile sed -e blah 

is valid in some contexts in some shells, but so far as I know they are 
now vanishingly rare, if in fact they still exist at all.  Please change
the subject line if you want to discuss the side issue. :-)
