Install fp in Ubuntu Linux

Hello!

I am working on a DIY project at home and decided to integrate filePro as
an added value. It is a PHP based API using MySQL as a DB Engine but
optionally, map out filePro in the back-end as well.

I have lots of ideas that I "need" to get out of my system and get it over
with! lol

My problem is that I hit a brick wall installing filePro and I cannot get
assistance from Support Dept. in fpTech (no offense there) - it has been at
least 3 days since the last contact and I'm stilling wondering how to
resolve this.

What I've done and where I encounter problem:
(1) Download fp runtime/development [ OK ]
(2) Unzip / Untar [ OK ]
(3) cd /tmp/fpinstall [ OK ]
(4) ./finish [OK ]
(5) Go through motions and answer questions [ OK ]
(6) No visible errors but ends up saying that it is removing /appl ...

While troubleshooting:
(1) cd /tmp/fpinstall/inst/fp [ OK ]
(2) ls -l (files are shown) [ OK ]
(3) ./dxmaint [ ERROR: No such file ] ????
(4) ldd dxmaint [ ERROR: No such file ] ????
(5) file dxmaint [ OK ]

Something is missing and I just cannot put my finger on it ... fpTech does
not seem to have a "documented" process of known issues and solutions :-(

If there are dependencies, what are they?

Thank you all in advance!
