This is why I asked before I posted it, Mark. Your reply above is what I based my decision on.

Look, I had a need to remove a site password that I didn’t remember putting on one of my old systems.
I wasn’t going to pay several hundred dollars to have the password removed, when programs like
Docgen from John Esak would remove/bypass the password. I contacted John and he couldn’t remember
exactly how he did it. It was a long time ago, back in the mid 80’s.

I spent a weekend figuring out how I could remove the password from several of MY old processing tables
that ended up with a password, that I don’t ever remember putting on. Maybe I did, I just don’t remember
ever doing that. I don’t like passwords on my stuff.

I use to be a filePro developer back in the mid 80’s to 1992. Since then I have only used filePro for myself.
I have created a book with all kinds of notes, tips and tricks that I have learned over the years, including
stuff that I was told I wasn’t suppose to know about. I have never let any of this information out and never
will.

Like I said before, I kept this information to myself, other than sharing it with my old friend Larry Hoover, who
is an active filePro developer. I felt he may have the need for the info, especially if he takes over an account
from someone who is no longer active writing filePro programs and can’t be reached anymore,
and there is a password on the system.

My intent is not malicious, but to be helpful to people who may need to remove a processing table password.
There are fewer and fewer people using filePro anymore and a couple of people I knew from the 80’s and 90’s
who use to write filePro programs for others have either retired and are no longer reachable or they have
passed away.

So you tell me...... Should I remove the information from my web page or not?

This is why I don’t participate in the filePro group.

Dave
