Yes, a mapped network drive is just as vulnerable to attack as a local 
drive.  (Maybe just a little slower in causing damage.)

I hope they have a rotating backup on the NAS.  (Otherwise, regardless of 
method of backup, wiping out the previous copy as it dutifully backs up the 
infected/damaged files doesn't help anyone.)
